I am impressed by you posting that your father really didn't do a lot with me and my sister. Did you post that because he influenced you in a negative way or a positive way? My father was an over the road truck driver who was gone for 6-8 weeks at a time but I still feel he influenced me by showing me that sometimes you have to make the hard choices if it means caring for your family.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that I have a strong relationship with my younger sister. That doesn't always happen, and that's ok. It's nice to read that you are close to yours as well!
ReplyDeleteEmily,
ReplyDeleteI wish I had grandparents that taught me how to cook but I didn't. But my father and mother taught me how to cook. I like the fact that you stayed your father worked and really didn't do a lot with you and your sister. This made me see that you still strive and pushed forward even though he was not there as much as you wanted. This is something that we as tacher should teach our students. No matter who is not there they must continue to learn and grow so they can get an education for themselves.
