Personal Childhood Web

The 5 people who influenced me in my life are:
  • My mother who was a homemaker and did everything with me and my sister.
  • My father who worked and really didn't do a lot with me and my sister.
  • My sister who is older and taught me to stand up for myself.
  • My grandmother who came from Poland and didn't speak English.
  • My nana who came from Spain and taught me how to cook.
My mom was always there supporting me and taught me everything I know. My father taught me how to be strong and independent. My sister is my best friend and always makes me laugh. My grandmother and nana were always very loving to me. They were the first ones to teach me about different cultures and they taught me to always be kind to different types of people.

  1. I am impressed by you posting that your father really didn't do a lot with me and my sister. Did you post that because he influenced you in a negative way or a positive way? My father was an over the road truck driver who was gone for 6-8 weeks at a time but I still feel he influenced me by showing me that sometimes you have to make the hard choices if it means caring for your family.

  2. I am happy that I have a strong relationship with my younger sister. That doesn't always happen, and that's ok. It's nice to read that you are close to yours as well!

  3. Emily,

I wish I had grandparents that taught me how to cook but I didn't. But my father and mother taught me how to cook. I like the fact that you stayed your father worked and really didn't do a lot with you and your sister. This made me see that you still strive and pushed forward even though he was not there as much as you wanted. This is something that we as tacher should teach our students. No matter who is not there they must continue to learn and grow so they can get an education for themselves.
